Dr. Sanjay Batish
Dr. Sanjay Batish is a family physician with an independent medical practice in Leland, North Carolina. He has been researching firearm violence since 2019. His study, SaFETy score as a predictor of gun violence in adolescent-young adults patients in a primary care setting, was awarded the 2022 North American Primary Care Research Group Clinical Pearl. Currently he is leading FiRInGS (Firearms-Related Incidents from Gun Shows), which is the first study to research the impact of gun shows in North Carolina. Dr Batish has taught to many physician groups about techniques to effectively counsel patients on firearm secure storage and harm reduction.
